Time for Boldness on Senate Reform (2015)

March 13-14, 2015

Senate reform is a perennial issue, which came into sharp focus with the Supreme Court’s 2014 Senate Reform Reference decision. Many felt Senate reform was necessary – but disagreed on what a re-envisioned Senate should be. The Time for Boldness on Senate Reform Conference brought together academics, politicians, and senators themselves to discuss competing possibilities for transforming the Senate. Together, they reflected on the Senate’s current workings and the Reference’s aftermath, outlined rival visions for reform, and confronted challenges to boldly moving forward on Senate reform.
